Ch. 1: The "Shot Through The Heart" Necklace

Pictured above is a unique collaboration with my fashionista friend, and past roommate-

Lindsay Layne Fjelstad.

Lindsay and I got down one day in our two bedroom apartment in Dana Point
and made this amazing variation of my classic, "Shot Through The Heart" necklace.

Our creation came together so quick and effortlessly, as Lindsay provided the chain
and I had the heart and arrow ready to be attached!

This piece is the definition of ONE-OF-A-KIND and
opened my eyes to a whole new realm of possibilities
for my "Shot Through The Heart" necklace design.

Lindsay's over-sized black chain is made from hollow plastic,
therefore it is extremely lightweight.

Its size and double layer effect make this piece a genuine stand out!

Plus, the fact that it came from her own jewelry stash
makes the necklace more sentimental to her when she wears it.

I love digging in other's jewelry collections,
or hunting at gem shows and thrift stores for the perfect chain for my design!

I previously played it safe with simple silver chain, but not any more...
The gold clasp that came with Lindsay's black plastic chain
has also inspired me to order some gold dipped arrows, too!
Who knew gold was in such high demand these days?

Either way, it's all about making finery for the finest,
and to each their own I say.

Here are a few other variations of my "Shot Through The Heart" necklace design
that I've made over the years for friends, family and acquaintances.

Each piece sold through direct interactions and a word-of-mouth-grassroots approach.

Many times I have sold them off my neck while bartending, which felt goooood. :)

Each heart is reversible,
meaning you can have TWO different colors,
essentially two necklaces in ONE!

That's TWO pieces of leather back-to-back,
with the arrow "shooting through the heart" as the closure
either way you wear it!

My personal favorite combos are black and white,
or red and purple.

And the more natural texture the leather has - the better!

The sky is the limit with this design!
With all of the different colors and textures of leather,
infinite options for chain and unlimited arrows available,
I can do literally anything with it.

With the holidays just around the corner,

I found it appropriate to share this picture of me
making "Shot Through The Heart" necklaces.

I love being creative and making wearable art - if you can't tell ;)
